Fringed by sun-drenched vineyard terraces and steep slate slopes, the Mosel winds its way through a primeval landscape in many river bends. Here grows the traditional Riesling, who is happy to be served a break in one of the many small wine taverns and ostrich farms. Numerous locks invite you to observe the busy shipping traffic, picturesque chapels and proud castles tell of past times. Particularly charming during the hikes on the Moselle, the wild and romantic Ehrenburg is surrounded by dense forests that take the visitor into the deep Middle Ages.
